What it covers
How AMLA and national financial supervisors cooperate around direct supervision: the selection process (eligibility first, detailed data only from eligible entities), the publication of the selected entities, the transfer of supervisory tasks and powers when an institution moves to AMLA supervision (from 2028) or back to its national supervisor, and the joint supervisory teams. Consulted from 16 December 2025 to 27 January 2026 (AMLA's first public consultation); approved by the General Board on 1 July 2026 for transmission to the Commission; final report published 21 July 2026. Once adopted it governs the data collection and selection leading up to 2028.
What it means in practice
Relevant for credit and financial institutions that may be selected for direct AMLA supervision: it sets how the hand-over between the national supervisor and AMLA works and what continuity of supervision means for ongoing reviews and measures. The eligibility data collection of 2026 already follows it.
