Today's EBA guideline or EBA-drafted standard on this topic is final and applies (Art. 54(5) AMLAR). AMLA will replace it with its own text under the AML package; no consultation paper exists yet. The expected date follows AMLA's programming document or the statutory deadline.
What it covers
Elaboration of prominent public functions, family members and close associates, the risk-based measures for PEPs and the measures after PEP status ends. Statutory deadline 10 July 2027; AMLA counts it among the risk-related mandates it plans for 2027. Until then the PEP provisions of the EBA Risk Factors Guidelines apply.
What it means in practice
Configure PEP screening lists, the senior-management approval process and the "12 months after leaving office" rule.
